AAT level 1 bookkeeping, also known as The Access Award in Bookkeeping is an entry-level qualification to learn manual single-entry bookkeeping. It introduces you to the role of bookkeepers, in particular the essential skills in single-entry bookkeeping.  If you have no prior accounting knowledge, this will be the entry to accounting and bookkeeping.

  3. Processing customer and supplier transactions
  4. Processing receipts and payments

This qualification consists of 1 unit with one assessment.

After this qualification you can further progress to level 2 bookkeeping/accounting or using accounting software level 1 & 2.

AAT level 1 bookkeeping is an entry level course for those who don’t have any accounting and bookkeeping background and want to learn the basic and single entry bookkeeping. This course would teach the essential skills of a bookkeeper and take it to the next level of double-entry bookkeeping.
