AAT level 2 accounting, also known as foundation certificate in accounting, is an entry-level accounting course, and will prepare you for junior and entry-level accounting roles. You will learn a solid foundation of finance administration, which covers double entry bookkeeping, basic costing principles and using accounting software.
You will also learn finance, accountancy, business and communication skills. Most learners start at this level.

Foundation Certificate Synoptic Assessment – this qualification will include an integrated assessment in which you will be asked to apply knowledge and skills gained from the entire units, within a workplace context.
Assessment: there will be total 5 assessments – 4 each and 1 synoptic
No previous knowledge or skill required. AAT SkillCheck is required. For the best chance to succeed we recommend a standard and good level of Maths and English.

You may be eligible for exemptions if you have previous finance or accounting qualification and an accounting or finance degree. Please contact us for more details.
After this qualification you can further progress to level 3 bookkeeping/accounting and level 4 accounting qualifications.
