  • Take assessments at home or another secure location of your choice, like your workplace

  • Have a more flexible approach to sitting your assessments and completing your qualifications.

All unit assessments are available to schedule and sit remotely, except the following ones:

AAT charges an additional fee for RI in addition to the standard centre-based assessment. Thus, you will pay the standard centre-based assessment fee, plus an additional amount for the RI. For example, if the centre-based assessment fee for a paper is £100, the AAT RI fee will be added to it. Please check the full fee on our step-by-step booking page above. You only pay what you see in our booking form. This includes the standard plus the AAT RI fee. You can check our centre-based assessment fee for all AAT papers on our website or our list on the AAT website.

We have a step-by-step booking form above.

  • Select your course level 1, 2, 3 or 4
  • Select the paper you want to take, and press Next at the bottom of the form
  • Select your planned date from the calendar. Must be at least 3 days or further
  • Click the time (06:00). It’s just a reference; you can take the exam at any time on the date.
  • On the next page, please complete the form; most fields are required.
  • Check that all your information is correct:
  • First name, last name, date of birth, AAT membership number
  • Email address and contact number, house number, and postcode.

AAT assessments, which last up to 90 minutes, have two options: with or without a break. Please select it accordingly. All other assessments longer than 90 minutes have a break by default. We will schedule without a break if we don’t receive clear instructions on this section (applicable only to exams up to 90 minutes).

The AAT RI also have an option to check if the RI platform is working well by conducting a technical practice assessment. Please be advised that this practice assessment is different from the RI practice assessment in the Lifelong Learning Portal. The RI practice assessment is designed to evaluate subject understanding, and the technical practice assessment is used to verify that the system functions properly for the AAT RI.

It is advisable to conduct the AAT RI practice assessment before the final assessment. In the booking form, we have three options for the AAT RI practice assessment: same day, a different day or no practice assessment. Choose any of these options. If you select a different date, please provide us with the date you would like to take the practice assessment. The date must be before your final assessment. If the date is not provided, we will not schedule your practice assessment.

After filling out all the fields, click Next at the bottom of the form. You will then enter your payment card details. There is only one option for payment: debit or credit card.

Once the payment is successfully made, you will receive a provisional booking email. We will check it and, if all the details and exam dates are correct, approve your exam booking within 24 hours.

AAT RI can be taken any day of the week (Monday through Sunday). You can book your AAT RI on our website for any day you want. If a day is unavailable on the booking form, please email us, and we can manually book your exam for the desired date.

You can start your assessment at any time on the scheduled day, but it must be submitted by midnight (UK time). Therefore, leave yourself enough time to complete it by the deadline.

As explained in the previous question, you can take your assessment at any time on the scheduled day; the time 06:00 am on the booking is just a reference. This is a technical reason for the booking form to function properly.

Our booking form may allow you to book the AAT RI on any day, such as today or tomorrow. All AAT RI bookings must be made at least three working days (Monday to Friday) in advance. For example, if you want to take your assessment on a Monday, you must book by the previous Wednesday by 5 pm at the latest. Similarly, if you’re going to take your assessment on a Friday, you must book by 5 pm on Tuesday. The AAT RI can be taken on any day, including Saturday and Sunday. Please follow Friday’s reference for the weekend exams (Saturday and Sunday). We can’t schedule your AAT RI if you don’t select your assessment date at least three days in advance and within the three-day windows specified here. The exam fee is non-refundable and non-transferable; so book it carefully or contact us by email. Any booking made for an exam date within a three-day window must be rescheduled to a future date.
